Professional Designations
When Jim Lambert joined the family business in 1981, he became the family's third generation to enter the professional
insurance field. Jim grew up in Willows and attended local schools. He graduated from the University of Santa Clara with
a bachelor’s degree in Economics and taught elementary and high school for eight years in San Jose.
Jim's professional designations include Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), and Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist
(AFIS). Jim also maintains membership in Insurance Brokers and Agents of the West (IBA West) and the Society of Insurance
Counselors. As an agency owner, Jim served on the Hartford’s Jonathan Trumbull Council, an agent advisory group that advises
the Hartford executive management team of agent concerns and contributes ideas for future Hartford plans and programs.
Maintaining a sense of community leadership and direction, Jim Lambert has contributed to many community organizations. He
is a member of the Willows Kiwanis Club and served as President for two terms. He was elected twice to the Willows Unified
School District School Board of Education. The Glenn County Board of Supervisors appointed Jim to represent private business
on the North
Central Counties Consortium Workforce Investment Board, a group dedicated to providing high quality workforce
development services, where he has served as chair for the past 10 years. Jim also served twice as chair of the Glenn County
Boy Scouts of America Pledge Drive and as a member of the Butte Community College Foundation Board. He has also served as
Foreman of the Glenn County Grand Jury.

The coveted Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation signifies a higher professional level of experience and
competence. To earn the CIC designation, Jim attended 100 hours of continuing education in 5 CIC institutes and passed
5 exams. To retain the designation, he attends annual programs of the National Alliance.

The Insurance Skills Center
The Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist (AFIS) designation is the nation's only insurance farm/agricultural
insurance accreditation program, that takes three years to earn.
The AFIS Designation was created by Insurance
Skills Center, Dr.
Emmett J. Vaughan, and the Insurance
Brokers & Agents
of the West (IBA West) Agribusiness Committee, to recognize achievement of a measurable standing of understanding of farm
and agribusiness risks.
Jim earned his designation by passing exams after 45 hours of comprehensive ag education in three educational areas,
from farm property and liability to crop insurance and worker's comp issues. He maintains his designation by attending
seminars annually and the Agribusiness Conference at least every three years.
